Earlier this week, CFHLA was proud to attend the Seminole County State of Our Schools Address, hosted by our partner the Seminole County Chamber at the Orlando Marriott Lake Mary.
Superintendent Serita D. Beamon celebrated the incredible achievements of Seminole County Public Schools over the past year, including:
✅ A continued “A” rating from the Florida Department of Education 🎓 A 91.8% graduation rate for the 2024 – 2025 school year 📚 16,000+ AP exams with pass rates exceeding state and global averages
Keep up the great work and CFHLA remains dedicated to continuing our support for Seminole County educators and students through our Adopt-A-School and High School Outreach programs!

The Orange County Convention Center (OCCC)
Continues to Thrive as a Global Leader in Events

Did you know that from April to June, our CFHLA partner, the Orange County Convention Center (OCCC), hosted 54 events, welcomed over 440,000 attendees and generated an estimated $1 billion in economic impact for Central Florida?
This was an incredible impact for our community and the key highlights included:
- Allstar World Cheerleading Championships: 70,000+ attendees, $177.5M impact

Premiere Orlando: Nearly 50,000 attendees, $126.8M impact

InfoComm: 44,000+ attendees, $111.9M impact
Looking ahead, the OCCC’s Grand Concourse Expansion remains a top priority, with groundbreaking set for December 2025 and construction anticipated to start in early 2026. This investment will ensure the OCCC remains competitive as a global leader in meetings and events.

Meet our August Members of the Month

CFHLA is proud to recognize our August Lodging Member of the Month, Katerina Templo, General Manager for Hampton Inn & Suites Clermont. We are grateful for Katerina's leadership on the CFHLA Board of Directors and her willingness to help serve as the Vice Chair of the Membership Committee this year. We are currently at 99.85% of our annual membership goal and we couldn’t have gotten there without Katerina's help and support!
Moreover, we are also proud to recognize our August Allied Member of the Month, Bonnie Marshall, Client Relations Manager for Juniper Landscaping. CFHLA is extremely grateful for Bonnie's outstanding involvement and longstanding support as a Silver Partner Member of CFHLA! We also appreciate her continued contributions to so many of CFHLA’s committees and Councils throughout the years, including the Engineers Council this year. Plus, we appreciate Bonnie's continued support of our annual signature events and community-wide initiatives.
