This week, CFHLA was proud to participate in Good Morning Seminole, which included several leaders from the region's tourism and economic development sectors. The full-house event featured CFHLA'S President/CEO Robert Agrusa, Seminole County's Office of Economic Development and Tourism Director Guilherme "Gui" Cunha, and Greater Orlando Sports Commission President & CEO, Jason Siegel.

The panel was moderated by George Diaz, former Orlando Sentinel senior sports writer, columnist, and editorial board member and discussion focused on the recently formed Tourism Improvement District (TID) and the future of Seminole County tourism.

Staying Ahead: Key HR and Legal Updates

This week, our second Human Resources Seminar took place before the start of our annual Hospitality Tradeshow.

This seminar featured several important legal updates, including information on the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, SCOTUS 2024-2025, Executive Updates, and updates in Florida including Anit-Squatter provisions and the “Choice Act”.

Slay the Workplace: Leading Gen Z Like a Pro

We also hosted the fourth seminar in the Leadership Development Series at this year’s Hospitality Tradeshow.
This session included an interactive discussion focused on Leading Generation Z led by Dr. Fevzi Okumus of UCF Rosen College of Hospitality Management, Jyllian Bradshaw of Lowndes, and Wendy Contreras of the JW Marriott Orlando and The Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes.
Attendees discussed communication, the importance of onboarding new team members, career development pathways and what Gen Z looks for in employers.

Hoteliers, Growth and Regional Collaboration

This week, CFHLA was thrilled to host our second Lake County General Managers meeting and luncheon in collaboration with CFHLA Board Member and General Manager of Mission Resort + Club, Cindy Staley.
This critical lunch meeting brought together representatives from twelve (12) different Lake County hoteliers and tourism partners, who provided updates on a variety of hospitality and tourism related topics. These updates included Ryan Ritchie and Levar Cooper with Discover Lake County, Jason Siegel with the Greater Orlando Sports Commission, and Melissa Brooks with Visit Florida.

We're incredibly excited to see that our presence continues to grow in Lake County, and we look forward to furthering collaboration with our hospitality partners as we drive progress and tourism success in across the region.

Clean Tec Outsourcing / Lancaster ES
|
CFHLA proudly recognizes Clean Tec Outsourcing for their continued support of Lancaster Elementary School through the Adopt-A-School program.
As part of Teacher Appreciation Week, the Clean Tec team hosted a vibrant celebration themed around Mexico, complete with nachos, traditional shaved ice (raspados), and festive music to show appreciation for the school’s hardworking staff.

Clean Tec Outsourcing also helped bring joy to more than 260 students during the Pre-K Adventure & Awards Celebration by sponsoring a fun fair. Their team set up a booth, provided face painting, and donated 20 gifts to help make the event extra special for Pre-K, Kindergarten, and award-winning students.

Supports 25,000 Students

This summer, over 100 team members from Universal Orlando Resort, a CFHLA member, volunteered at The Great Big Backpack Build, supporting students in need across Central Florida.
|
With help from a $60,000+ Universal Orlando Foundation grant, the event hit a record - 25,000 backpacks filled with supplies including notebooks, pens, pencils, markers and more. CFHLA is proud to recognize our August Lodging Member of the Month, Katerina Templo, General Manager for Hampton Inn & Suites Clermont. We are grateful for Katerina's leadership on the CFHLA Board of Directors and her willingness to help serve as the Vice Chair of the Membership Committee this year. We have now achieved 100% of our annual membership goal and we couldn’t have gotten there without Katerina's help and support!
Moreover, we are also proud to recognize our August Allied Member of the Month, Bonnie Marshall, Client Relations Manager for Juniper Landscaping. CFHLA is extremely grateful for Bonnie's outstanding involvement and longstanding support as a Silver Partner Member of CFHLA!
