CFHLA Security & Safety Council

Hosts Annual Casino Night Fundraiser

Last week, the CFHLA Security & Safety Council welcomed more than 120 CFHLA members at its annual Casino Night Fundraiser. Throughout the evening, each of our members tested their luck at blackjack, craps, and poker tables while supporting initiatives that strengthen safety and security throughout the Central Florida’s region. A special thank you to Cathy Zucker, General Manager, and the incredible staff at Wyndham Grand Orlando Resort Bonnet Creek for hosting us at your beautiful property, for this fundraising event!

All of the proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit the CFHLA Foundation and help to advance the ongoing initiatives of the Security & Safety Council, which includes our continued support for local law enforcement and first responders, as well as the Council’s Service Awards, which recognize hospitality security professionals who go above and beyond to ensure guest safety. Casino Night also plays a vital role in funding the annual Public Safety Summit, which introduces local high school students to career opportunities within hospitality security, law enforcement, emergency management, fire rescue, and other public safety professions. Through these educational programs, students gain valuable exposure to industry leaders and meaningful connections that can help open their horizons to a future career.

Thank you again to our event sponsors, the Security & Safety Council members, the team at Wyndham Grand Orlando Resort Bonnet Creek, and Casino Party USA for making this evening of networking, friendly competition, and strong community impact possible. Most importantly, thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to a cause that extends far beyond the casino floor and directly benefits our community!

Thank you to our Casino Night Corporate Sponsors including:

Building and Strengthening

Relationships with our Allied Members

This week, several lodging leaders from the CFHLA Board of Directors joined many of our valued Allied Partners for a fun day on the golf course at the Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate.

While there was certainly some friendly competition along the way, the true value of the day was the opportunity to connect, share ideas, and build stronger relationships with Central Florida’s hospitality leaders.

Our Allied Members play a critical role in supporting and driving our industry forward. This is why the fairways became more than just a place for golf - they became a place to build more meaningful connections, collaboration, and exploring new ways to work together and support the continued success of hospitality community.

A special thank you to all of our lodging and allied members who participated and helped make the day a success. The relationships built and strengthened on the course are a great reminder that CFHLA remains strong as an organization, because of the continued collaboration among its members.

Reminder: New Regulatory Laws Take Effect July 1

This week, CFHLA partnered with GrayRobinson to host an informative webinar highlighting the latest legislative updates impacting Florida's public lodging and public food service establishments. During the session, Regulated Products Deputy Section Chair & Shareholder, Grace Yang, and Shareholder, Chris Carmody, provided attendees with an overview of Senate Bill 606 and explained several key changes that hospitality professionals should be aware of.

As a reminder, effective July 1, new regulations will take effect regarding the use of service charges – now referred to as operations charges – in restaurants. This will provide greater transparency for guests while allowing restaurants to retain the flexibility they need to operate.

Additionally, the webinar provided clarifications on the revised notification requirements for removing guests, the practical implications of these legislative changes, and how businesses can prepare to remain compliant. Following the presentation, attendees participated in an interactive Q&A session, giving them the opportunity to ask questions and gain valuable insights from legal experts.

If you missed the webinar, CLICK HERE to watch the webinar.

Thank you again to our CFHLA Member's at GrayRobinson including Grace Yang and Chris Carmody for sharing their expertise and helping keep our members informed on the latest developments affecting Florida's hospitality industry.
