CFHLA Foundation Support Makes an Impact in
Hagerty High School’s Culinary Program
Last year, the CFHLA Foundation was proud to award $5,000 in educational grants to the culinary programs at Lake Howell and Hagerty High School in Seminole County. Fast forward to today, this investment is already making an major impact within the classroom. During a recent visit to Hagerty High School, we were excited to see the impact firsthand. Serving more than 600 students, the program was in full motion as Culinary 3 students put their skills to the test in a “Chopped”-style challenge. Teams competed for top honors in taste and presentation, with winners earning the coveted Golden Spoon.
Thanks to the generosity of our members and community partners, these programs were able to purchase essential equipment such as nonstick pans, cast iron skillets, and woks. These tools have expanded hands-on learning opportunities and exposed the students to a wider range of culinary techniques as they prepare for future careers in the industry. Thank you to the students, faculty, and administrators at Hagerty High School for hosting us, and to our CFHLA Foundation Board for making opportunities like this possible.
