Remember the Skies: Commemorating
25 Years Since September 11th
|
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. As we reflect on that day and the nearly 3,000 lives lost, we invite you to join us the Remember the Sky campaign, a commemorative initiative of the 9/11 Memorial & Museum.
Inspired by the crystal-clear blue skies that stretched across much of the country that morning, the campaign uses a simple image to reconnect us with the memories, stories, and emotions of September 11.
Twenty-five years later, an entire generation has grown up without a personal memory of that day. Remember the Sky provides an opportunity to ensure the stories, lessons, and legacy of September 11 continue to be remembered and shared with future generations.
Join CFHLA on Friday, September 11, by sharing a photo of the sky on your social media channels. Please tag CFHLA and @911Memorial and include #CFHLA #NeverForget911 #RememberTheSky.
Together, we remember, we honor, and we never forget.

CFHLA’s Adopt-A-Station
Program Returns for Patriot Day
|
Each year, in conjunction with the CFHLA Patriot Day Remembrance Breakfast, CFHLA hosts its Adopt-A-Station Program as a way for our allied and lodging members to show appreciation for the first responders who serve and protect our community every day.
CFHLA Members are invited to “adopt” a local fire or police station by providing breakfast, lunch, or dinner to the first responders at their selected station on Patriot Day, Friday, September 11.
CLICK HERE to view the list of available stations.
Once you select a station, please contact the individual listed on the spreadsheet directly to coordinate your meal delivery. The station contact will confirm the arrangements and let you know how many first responders you should plan to feed.
After confirming your station, please notify Kim Gordon at kim.gordon@cfhla.org so we can update our list and mark the station as adopted.
And don’t forget to take photos! Following your delivery, please send your photos to Kim so CFHLA can help share and celebrate your support of our first responders.
Together, we can make Patriot Day an opportunity to say thank you to those who serve our community every day.

Orlando International Airport Expands Terminal C
to Support Central Florida’s Tourism Growth
|
Orlando International Airport (MCO) continues to invest in the future of Central Florida’s tourism industry with the opening of a new wing at Terminal C, marked by the relocation of Virgin Atlantic from Terminal A to its new home in Terminal C.
The expansion includes Gates C250–C254 and represents an important investment in increasing capacity, improving operational flexibility, and creating a more balanced flow of passengers throughout the airport. Designed as Multiple Aircraft Ramp System (MARS) gates, the new facilities can accommodate up to eight narrow-body aircraft positions or four wide-body aircraft and feature common-use equipment to support both domestic and international carriers.
The $462 million expansion will help Terminal C accommodate an estimated 10 to 12 million passengers annually. With nearly 58 million passengers traveling through MCO in 2025, the additional capacity is expected to help improve passenger flow throughout the airport, including at checkpoints, concessions, baggage claim, and other high-traffic areas.
For Central Florida’s hospitality industry, continued investments in MCO's infrastructure are critical to supporting future visitor growth and ensuring Orlando remains accessible and welcoming to travelers from around the world.

Embassy Suites Orlando Airport Helps Lake
George Elementary Start the School Year Strong
|
Embassy Suites by Hilton Orlando Airport kicked off the new school year by supporting its CFHLA Adopt-A-School partner, Lake George Elementary School, with a special back-to-school donation.
Recently, the Embassy Suites team delivered much-needed school supplies to help students and teachers as they begin the year. The team also had an opportunity to strengthen its partnership by connecting over breakfast with Lake George Elementary Education Coordinator Yaniert Abalo and a colleague.
The time together provided an opportunity to build relationships, exchange ideas, and learn more about how the hotel can continue supporting the school throughout the year. These connections are an important part of the Adopt-A-School program, helping hospitality partners understand the needs of their school communities, identify meaningful ways to make a difference, and preparing the students and teachers for success.
CFHLA appreciates Embassy Suites Orlando Airport for investing in its school community and supporting students and educators as they begin another school year!
